Objectives

Pratice od Engienering Science, in the aeas of Fluid Mechanics, and Heat Transfer, with industrial experiements realized at the laboratory scale.

Consolidation of Engineering knowledge by industrial pratice.

It will be carried out the following laboratory assignments: - Laminar pipe flow (DEQ); - Air cooling of a solid body: natural convection (DEQ); - Air cooling of a solid body: forced convection (DEQ); - Flow measurement techniques; Heat transfer coefficientes in agitated tanks; - Flow through weirs (DEC) - Hydraulic machines (pumps) - operating conditions (DEC) - Hydraulic jump (DEC)

Teaching methods and learning activities

Execution of the planned laboratory tests. Brief presentation of the adequate procedures. Students have to write reports and give oral presentation of the laboratory assignments carried out.

Students, who want to improve their grades, have to perform two laboratory assignments and written detailed reports about them and give a presentation on one of the assignments carried out.
