Objectives


  • Acquire advanced skills in Occupational Health in his specific research area;

  • Concretize a critical and reflexive stance on the information available;

  • Develop the ability to identify, evaluate and formulate problems in occupational health.

Learning outcomes and competences

This course deals with the problem of occupational health. The quality of the references is a conditioning factor of any investigation. This quality, in its different levels, will serve as a facilitating agent so that the PhD student develops a set of methodological skills that enable him to identify a topic within their field of study in Health and simultaneously to define the specific research goals. It also allows that the PhD student acquires the necessary critical capacity before the themes, issues and approaches that he will develop in his doctoral thesis.

Definition of the specific quality criteria for publications in occupational health.

Under the guidance of the UC regent and a supervisor of their choice, each student should search, select and read scientific articles under UC's thematics and related to his research topic on thesis.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Tutorial guidance by the advisor and the regent of curricular unit.

At the end of the semester, students should submit a report, in article format, for presentation and public discussion before a jury.
