Objectives

Students should acquire competences in the planning and integrated management of network and system infra-structures. Learning results should provide students with competence in the procedures for managing a network, systems, and communication services infrastructure, in particular:
- Specify, acquire, and evaluate requirements for infrastructure planning and design
- Planning and designing the network and system infrastructure
- Perform a rigorous choice of support equipments and systems based on specified requirements
- Specify functional areas in management
- Select adequate management platforms and tools

Program

Enterprise networks:requirements analysis, flow analysis, fundamental components and services; network topologies, virtual networks (VLAN, VPN), WAN/LAN integration, addressing and routing planning, quality of service and security.
Systems architectures for enterprise networks: server clustering, load balancing models, high availability, scalability, and redundancy.
Network management: functional areas; management layers; management operations and high-level functionalities; SNMP-based management architecture; management model fundamental components; MIBs, agents, managers, proxys, and probes; information models; web-based integrated management of networks and components (WBEM); management platform evaluation.
