Objectives
Stimulate the pupil to use, on an efficient way, the computer in the solution of some problems. Elaboration of algorithms. Develop the capacity to implement programs appealing to MATLAB language. Use some graphical capacities of the MATLAB.
Program
1 – Introduction to the computers.
2 - Symbolic computation: use of the MAPLE.
3 – Introduction to the algorithms.
4 – Introduction to the logic.
5 –MATLAB language. Introduction: the MATLAB environment; a sample of a MATLAB session. Elements: characters and constants; arithmetical, relational and logical operators; arithmetical and logical Matlab functions; expressions. Assignment statements. Matrices and "arrays": inicializing variables; operations and functions that operate with arrays; subarrays. Programming: input/output functions; branches; loops. File named MATLAB: file named .mat; file named .m; scripts; functions.
6 – Introduction to plotting with MATLAB.

Introduction to algorithms
Teaching methods and learning activities
Evolutive education of programming, where the complexity of the decided problems goes increasing to the measure that the instructions are presented. In the beginning some algoritmic techniques will be presented. In the theoretical lessons there will be used examples with the computer. In the practical lessons the students will develop and test their own programs in the resolution of some problems

Eligibility for exams
1- Limit of allowed absences is fixed by the Article 4ª-nº 1 (25% of nº of foreseen practical lessons).
2- The frequency of the last year (of 1 to 10 values) (FA) can substitute classification MP1+MP2.
Calculation formula of final grade
Final classification, CF:
CF=max( MP1+MP2,FA)+MT
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Evaluation through final examination, with written component (10 values) and one component practical (10 values) with use of the MATLAB to carry through in the computer
Classification improvement
