Objectives
1. Acquisition of technical knowledge: advanced engineering knowledge in computational techniques, software and hardware for monitoring and control systems for lab and industrial installations.
2. Consolidation of personal and professional skills: problem identification and formulation; modeling; solution and recommendation; systems definition and interaction; compromises, judgment and balance in resolution; initiative; creative and critical thinking; career planning; actualization in the engineering world.
3. Consolidation of inter-personal skills; team work and communication: strategy and structure of communications, written and graphical communication; oral presentation.
Program
Introduction to systems for monitoring and control on a laboratory and industrial level.
Introduction to LabVIEW programming, with development of applications for monitoring and controlling of lab setups.
Introduction to VBA programming for data aquisition.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Practical sessions in LabVIEW programming and interaction with data acquisition systems equipped with diverse types of sensors and controllers.
