Objectives
SPECIFIC AIMS:
The objectives are the review the fundamentals of mathematics. It is demand that the student gets solid theoretical and practical formation about the main concepts and results of the differential calculus in R.
LEARNING OUTCOMES:
At the end of lecture period the students should be perform the following aspects:
1 – To apply the basic differentiation rules of one variable real function.
2 – To apply the chain rule.
3 - To apply de derivative of the inverse functions.
Program
The derivative of a function. Geometric interpretation of the derivative as a slope. Basic differentiation rules.
The chain rule for differentiating composite functions. Applications of the chain rule.
Derivatives of inverse functions.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical-practical classes are based on written and oral expositions, supported on transparencies, about the contents of this course. Examples of application are presented frequently, especially at the end of each unit. In practical classes, the students will solve exercises in sheets conceived for that purpose.
