Objectives
- To know the methodologies of analysis of serious accidents;
- To define an integrated management system of occupational and environmental safety;
- To establish the principles of emergency organisation;
- To understand the role of the different elements of a system and the relative contribution to the global risk;
- To identify and analyse the role of the human element in the cause of accidents, disturbance or malfunctions;
- To understand and apply techniques and methods of analysis and risk management.

- Concept of integrated safety;
- Introduction. Models of causality of accidents and disturbances;
- Legislation and regulations;
- Methods of risk analysis with a special emphasis on the human error. Examples of application;
- Serious accidents;
- Emergency organisation;
- Role of the human factor in the causality of accidents and disturbances;
- Human error. Definitions, fundamental concepts;
- Approaches to identify the measures to reduce the human error.

Evaluation Type
Distributed evaluation with final exam
Eligibility for exams
Attendance to 75% of classes for students with a vocational training certificate in occupational safety and hygiene. Attendance to 90% of classes for those who do not own a vocational training certificate in occupational safety and hygiene.
Calculation formula of final grade
Assignment on emergency: 25% of the final grade
Assignment on risks: 35% of the final grade
Test: 40% of the final grade
