- Pressure transducer calibration (DEC)
- Flow meter calibration (DEC)
- Flowrate measurements in turbulent pipe flows with load loss (DEC)

- Application of Reynolds’s test in a flow in a duct (DEM)
- Measurement of velocity and volume flowrate of gas according to ISO 10780 – stationary source emissions (DEM)

- Laminar pipe flow (DEQ);
- Air cooling of a solid body: natural convection (DEQ);
- Air cooling of a solid body: forced convection (DEQ);
- Flow measurement techniques

Teaching methods and learning activities

Execution of the planned laboratory tests. Brief presentation of the adequate procedures.
Students have to write reports and give oral presentation of the laboratory assignments carried out.

Evaluation Type

Distributed evaluation without final exam

Assessment Components

Description Type Time (hours) Weight (%) End date
Attendance (estimated) Participação presencial 56,00
Total: - 0,00

Eligibility for exams

Laboratory classes are mandatory to all students.

Calculation formula of final grade

Final Grade (FG) is based on the following formula:
FG= 0.40*DEC + 0.2*DEM +0.40*DEQ

DEC- Civil engineering department
DEM – Mechanics department
DEQ- Chemistry department

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Not applicable

Classification improvement

Students, who want to improve their grades, have to perform two laboratory assignments and written detailed reports about them and give a presentation on one of the assignments carried out.
