Objectives
Module I:Laboratory practice in Fluid Mechanics and Transport Phenomena, partly in order to help consolidate theoretical learning
Module II: Learning fundamental statistical techniques for sampling, parameter estimation, regression and hypothesis testing.
Program
Module I:Five laboratory works are assigned:
T1- Laminar flow along a tube;
T2- Air cooling of a solid body: natural convection and forced convection;
T3- Flow measurement techniques;
T4- Performance curves of a centrifugal pump with dimensional analysis of the results;
T5- Demonstration of several effects in fluid movement
Module II: Probability and random variables. Sampling and parameter estimation. Hypothesis testing. Regression. Analysis of variance.
