Objectives
To provide the students with the knowledge and skills required to analyze and develop automation systems.
Program
1. Introduction to automation systems: continuous control systems versus event driven control systems. Application examples.
2. Systems and technologies for industrial automation: actuators, sensors and transducers, programmable logic controllers.
3. Analysis and modelling of event driven automation system: the Grafcet method. Synchronization, concurrency, resource sharing, hierarchical systems. Implementation 4.Industrial communication networks: concepts and architectures. Analysis and use of the Modbus protocol.
5. Technical documentation of industrial automation systems: standards and models.
