Objectives

- To complement the knowledge developed in the classic disciplines;
- To pass for the students, knowledge and experiences by recognized specialists

Program

• Domains of Occupational Hygiene;
• Chemical contamination – Dosis and Occupational Exposure Limit (OEL) concept, chemical agents and correspondent physiological action, conditioning variables using OEL, methods for OEL evaluation, OEL standards, Fundamentals of sampling, colecting systems, samplers, anlytical methods, control of occupational environments;• Lighting – Vision, basic photometric parameters, lighting principles, most important factors of lighting, cintilation, stroboscopic effect, maintenance of lighting instalations; psychodinamics of colour, lighting evaluation of indoor environments;

• Noise – Noise characteristics, sound pressure level; frequence and spectrum; anatomy and physiology of hearing, audibility, noise types, equivalent sound pressure level, noise measurement, consequences of noise, noise control;

• Vibration – vibration exposure criteria and effects in the man, vibration control;

• Ionizing and non-ionizing radiation;
•Thermal environment – Thermal balance, physical parameters and measuring equipment, hot environments, heat stress indices, neutral and cold environments, thermal comfort indice, effects of heat and cold in the man, thermal environment control;
• Biological risks
