Objectives

This course aims to provide specific knowledge on Geotechnics that are not covered on the common branch of the degree.
By taking this course the students will be prepared to develope all the tasks concerning a project, control, coordenation and construction of special works with an important geotechnical component.


Program

Geologic and geotechnical recognition.
Soils hydraulics.
Rocks hydraulics.
Special foundations technics.
Stanching and draining
Containment structures
Slopes; stability; treatments.

Teaching methods and learning activities

All the subject contents are covered in the theorectical classes (that focus on all the basic theorectical issues, as well as some practical ones).
The theorectical classes are complemented with the resolution of some practical exercises.
The students will also have some kind of contact with the professional reality.
