Objectives

The main goal of this course is the elaboration of a practical design, total or partial, in one of the areas of the Option of Materials and Process of Construction.

Program

Practical development of a design, in one of the following areas:
- Structure of an industrial unit with prefabricated solution;
- Design of Residues of the Quarries in the Production of Hardened Utilization;
- Rubber Slag Valuation of Tires in Products of the Civil Construction;
- Reinforcement Design of beams with armours addition CFRP;
- Intervention Design in a national monument where the deterioration of the rock exists;
- Study of the composition of mortar with leached ashes of rice rind.
- Sizing Design of a landfill with lateral slopes strengthened with geossinthetics.


Teaching methods and learning activities

In the beginning of the semester, each orienting professor of design presents the description of the work to develop, aims, bibliography and necessary software. The designs will be developed by groups of 2 pupils. The works will be followed by the respective orienting professor, in schedule decided between pupils and professor. In the end of the semester each group must present its design in the form of licensing process, with all the written and drawn parts. Each group will make the public presentation of the work developed to the colleagues and professors of the conditional option.
