Objectives

This course aims to acquaint students with theoretical and practical concepts in illuminating engineering and industrial facilities, in order to make them able to develop electricity projects in industrial facilities.
Students should be capable of handling equipments adequately, using the most appropriate calculations and forms of management of electricity installation. It should be given special emphasis to energy efficiency.
Students will be assessed by a theoretical test, problem solving and by doing an assignment on the installation of electricity in an industrial facility. This assignment has to comprise schemes and the decisions that had been made have to be justified. Calculations and the materials that had been used have also to be referred in the assignment.

Teaching methods and learning activities

Theoretical classes will be based on the presentation of the themes with support of transparencies and on the presentation of case studies.
Practical classes will be based on problem solving.
Students will have the chance to use computer calculation applications.
Students will have to do an assignment on the installation of electricity in an industrial facility. This assignment has to comprise a report, in which the decisions that had been made have to be justified. Calculations, technical characteristics of materials that had been used have also to be referred in the report.
