Objectives

Fundamental concepts of digital video and audio. Detail of digital technologies with compression used currently in television. Distribution nets and television diffusion. Technologies in television production. The concept of interactive TV and HDTV.

Program

Introduction to the norms of digital video and audio codification used in TV. Digital television broadcasting in different supports: air, satellite and cable. The convergence of information technologies, telecommunications and television in production. Digital Systems for Contents Management. The new digital services: interaction and high definition support. The transition in different countries.

Distributed evaluation with final exam

Eligibility for exams

To get access to the exam, the student must have a minimum grade of 40% on the total of the classification of assignments + frequency of theoretical classes.
The minimum grade at the exam to pass the course is 30%.

Calculation formula of final grade

(1,5/20) * frequency of theoretical classes + (8,5/20) * grade of the 2 assignments + (10/20) * exam result

2 assignments similar to those of ordinary students, and exam, with an identical weight
