Objectives
This course unit aims to understand the importance of organizations, learn the principal theories of the Sociology of Organizations, and the different organizational models, combining theoretical foundations with their application to specific cases involving organizations.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical classes will be based on the presentation of the themes of the course unit. Practical classes will be based on the discussion of “organi zational cases”.The classes will focus on the practical application of theoretical concepts in the analysis and discussion of case studies as well as the discussion of papers.

Eligibility for exams
Presentation and discussion of a case study.
Students must obtain a minimum of 7.5 points on all evaluation components.
Calculation formula of final grade
(i) Presenting of a case study (15%)
(ii) discussing a case study (25%)
(iii) Written exam without consultation (60%)
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Students in special regime that can not attend the unit will get the frequency evaluation as follows:
(I) individual work to be set by teachers (40%).
(Ii) written exam (60%).
Classification improvement
Students can only improve the grade of the final exam.
