Abstract (EN): The article describes some practical activities and the corresponding didactic materials that were developed for natural sciences teaching and environmental education in an urban natural park located in a small Portuguese city (Viseu, Central Portugal). The main objective of the paper was to promote the use of urban natural areas by local schools, helping teachers to overcome some constraints usually described for the development of field activities.
