Resumo (PT): Recent research has demonstrated that microRNAs (miRNAs) are key regulators of many cell processes often deregulated in cancer, including apoptosis. Indeed, it is becoming clear that many miRNAs are anti-apoptotic and mediate this effect by targeting pro-apoptotic mRNAs or positive regulators of pro-apoptotic mRNAs. Conversely, many pro-apoptotic miRNAs target anti-apoptotic mRNAs or their positive regulators. We have reviewed the current knowledge in this area including evidence of miRNA involvement in cancer drug resistance. <br> <br> Keywords: Core apoptosis; Cancer; miRNA; Chemoresistance <br> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6T68-51NCN6H-1&_user=2460038&_coverDate=01%2F31%2F2011&_rdoc=2&_fmt=high&_orig=browse&_origin=browse&_zone=rslt_list_item&_srch=doc-info(%23toc%235024%232011%23999529997%232836735%23FLA%23display%23Volume)&_cdi=5024&_sort=d&_docanchor=&_ct=21&_acct=C000057398&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=2460038&md5=e5cef5665e4d3d056324d95cda844c30&searchtype=a"> Texto integral</a> <br> <br>
