Summary: |
We live in a digitized world. Tasks done in former times by paper work are done digital - for example contact to authorities, tax declaration, and other tasks. This needs digital competences (DC) of affected people.
DC must be learned by the users. This requires some motivation and an active approach to learning: "Learning cannot be delegated". Living in a technical dominated environment providing digital tools and means does not necessarily mean that people really have the competences to use these means properly, neither in a secure way and nor usefully.
Rationale of the project
The DigComp Report (Digital Competence Framework 2.0 (DigComp) created in 2017, DCF) - used as a reference tool - shows up in average that 54 % of the European population own digital competences - this means, 46 % DO NOT have. Countries taking part in the project (PT, IT, GR) are above this level of 46 %. To clear this situation, it's necessary to make every effort to teach the missing competences to various groups of adults.
Aims
The project aims to develop missing digital competences of adults (Adult Education AE with a special focus in so-called "digital immigrants" which are people disadvantaged in society due to their lack of digital competences) and to enable them to take an active role in the digital society.* To create high quality adult training (non-formal education) using "Flipped Adult Education" results (Erasmus+ 2018-1-AT01-KA204-039224 Project). |

The results can be expressed as to serve in nano, micro, meso and macro levels.
NANO
The nano level addresses digitalization (which means the application of digitized information in practice). This result is integrated in each module.
MICRO & MESH
Products and outcomes of the IOs represent the micro and mesh level. 15 well-developed, tested and evaluated modules to support adults to act as active independent citizens in a digital world. These courses will be made available under a Creative Commons CC BY-SA 4.0 license as OERs.
A transferability guide as a support to trainers in other training environments to use the project’s results and to keep the courses open to further development (continuous development adapted to the changes in the digitized world)
MESH
Results of the training (represent mesh level). Approx. 120 adults will take part in the modules and build the first group of more experienced users in the digital landscape.
MACRO
Sustainable results (macro level). The developed courses will be used by the AE organisations taking part in this project (EDRASE, EBI/EIE, and training2000) as part of their course program. These organisations will care for the further development and sustainability of these courses.
List of results during the project’s life time – these are the elements that lead to the Digital Immigrants Survival kit (toolkit, course modules)
Competence Map (fitting to the described modules of the Toolkit)
Developed training content
Training path and pilot testing
OERs
Transferability and implementation guide
On the completion a ready-to-use set of training modules are available. The well thought out dissemination plan. |
