Final Conference DEEP INVENTHEI

The University of Porto will host the final conference of DEEP INVENTHEI on July 15th and 16th. The event, set to take place at the Faculty of Engineering and Faculty of Economics, will highlight significant achievements and set the stage for future innovation and entrepreneurship endeavours.

Throughout the project, DEEP INVENTHEI has made substantial strides in fostering a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. The initiative has successfully trained and mentored numerous students, academic staff, and non-academic staff, equipping them with the necessary skills to excel in the rapidly evolving landscape of innovation. The program has also been instrumental in the creation and support of several start-ups, providing a robust platform for budding entrepreneurs to transform their ideas into viable businesses. Moreover, DEEP INVENTHEI has facilitated the establishment of numerous partnerships, bridging the gap between academia and industry, and creating a collaborative ecosystem that promotes sustained growth and development.

The conference will celebrate the establishment of new infrastructures designed to support Innovation and Entrepreneurship (I&E). These infrastructures are poised to provide critical resources and support to innovators and entrepreneurs, fostering a conducive environment for groundbreaking advancements.

The agenda for the conference is packed with insightful sessions and networking opportunities. It kicks off with a welcome and registration, followed by an opening ceremony. The first keynote, "A Vision for Entrepreneurship Education," will set an inspiring tone for the event. Attendees will then enjoy a coffee break before diving into the "Action Tank - Navigating the Academic I&E Journey" session, designed to explore the challenges and pathways in academic innovation. The first day will conclude with a closing session and an informal networking event titled "Food (& Drinks) for Thoughts!"

The second day begins with another warm welcome and features pitching sessions where innovators will present their projects to an expert panel. After a coffee break, a keynote on "How to Build a Deep Tech Academic Spin-off?" will provide valuable insights into creating successful deep tech ventures from academic research. A panel discussion on "From Lab to Market: Accelerating Innovation through Research-Based Entrepreneurship" will follow, focusing on translating academic research into market-ready products.

After lunch, the conference will resume with a keynote on "Forging the Future: The Power of Collaboration and Internships in Driving Innovation," highlighting the crucial role of partnerships and internships. Another panel, "Building Bridges: Strengthening Industry-Academia Partnerships through Internship Programs," will delve deeper into enhancing these collaborations. The event will also mark the kickoff of YML 5.0, the latest edition of the Young Mediterranean Leaders program, before concluding with closing remarks and farewell drinks.

This final conference of DEEP INVENTHEI promises to be a milestone event, celebrating past achievements and paving the way for future innovations. Attendees can look forward to engaging in discussions, valuable insights, and ample networking opportunities, making it a must-attend event for anyone involved in the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem.
