Salvador Carvalhosa is a Ph.D. candidate in Sustainable Energy Systems at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), under the MIT Portugal program. His research focuses on applied topics such as energy communities, storage systems, energy policy, and the digitalization of the energy sector. Since 2021, he has been a researcher at the Centre for Power and Energy Systems (CPES) at INESC TEC, contributing to several national and European projects aimed at advancing the sustainable energy transition.
He is also a guest lecturer at FEUP, where he teaches courses in power systems, electrical networks, and infrastructure planning. He completed his Integrated Master’s degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering at FEUP in 2019, which included a study period at the University of Oulu in Finland with a focus on Industrial Engineering and Management.
His scientific activity is reflected in several international publications covering topics such as electric vehicles, renewable energy, energy communities, and decision-support methodologies. His research interests lie in the efficient integration of sustainable and digital solutions into the energy systems of the future.
