Personal Presentation

My research is concerned with the development of optimization methods and simulation models to solve supply chain, layout, production planning, and scheduling problems involving manufacturing systems. In particular, the research aims at developing mathematical programming models (LP, IP, MILP and MINLP), decomposition methods, and non-exact approaches to solve multi-scale and multi-period optimization problems. Both deterministic and uncertainty settings are part of the scientific interests. The current research projects include solving problems in the following areas:

1. plant and process design;
2. production planning and scheduling;
3. logistics and supply chain;
4. methods for improving the solution time of real-world combinatorial problems.
