Current Position:
Postdoctoral Researcher at the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP) and Integrated Member of the R&D Unit CONSTRUCT. She develops scientific activity focused on the behaviour, performance and evolution of construction materials and solutions, with particular emphasis on multiscale approaches and emerging construction technologies.
Academic Background:
Integrated Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering, FEUP; PhD in Civil Engineering, University of Porto, with the thesis “Design of eco-efficient ultra-high performance fibre reinforced cement-based composite for rehabilitation/strengthening applications”, including a research stay at TU Delft.
Main Research Interests/Expertise:
Development and multiscale characterization of advanced and low‑carbon cementitious materials, with particular emphasis on the phenomena governing their physical behaviour, stability, evolution and in‑service performance. Her work involves the analysis of rheological properties, transport mechanisms, shrinkage, cracking and durability, integrating microstructural evolution, mechanical behaviour and material–environment interactions. She also investigates high‑performance composites, eco‑efficient solutions and materials for digital construction processes, including 3D printing, incorporating alternative additions from residues, industrial by‑products and nano/functional materials.
Years of Relevant Experience: 15
Main Activities:
Principal Investigator of the projects DigiCrete, DigiCrete 2.0 and PURSUE, and team member of eight additional research projects. She has supervised or co‑supervised around 20 scientific and technical works (PhDs, MSc dissertations, undergraduate and international research internships). Mentor of the EcoLithos project (FEUP CAMPUS). Author and co‑author of over 90 technical and scientific publications, keynote speaker at three international conferences and recipient of six awards in the field of cement-based materials and associated technologies.
Other Relevant Information:
Expert evaluator for national and international research and innovation funding programmes; member of technical and scientific committees, including RILEM TCs; member of the organizing committees of Betão Estrutural 2024, CINPAR 2026, CoPILEC 2024 and CoPILEC 2025. She is also part of editorial boards of scientific journals in Civil Engineering and collaborates with external entities in consultancy and knowledge‑transfer activities.
