Actual Positionl: Post Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP and an Integrated Member of The Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction

Academic Degrees: (Integrated) MSc in Civil Engineering - Materials (FEUP) and a Ph.D. in Civil Engineering - Structures (UP).

Main research lines: Developing and characterising new cementitious materials (self-compacting concrete, eco-efficient concretes, high/ultra-high performance cementitious composites, digital concrete), non-conventional SCM (wastes valorization), experimental factorial design, modelling of material behaviour, non-destructive testing and concrete durability

Relevant activities: After a career break due to parental leaving, Ana Mafalda got a very competitive post-doc funding contract in the 4th editio of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulation Contest (2021). She is the Principal researcher of the project DigiCrete - “NEXT GENERATION OF DIGITAL “CONCRETE”: Performance Mix Design and Assessment of Sustainable and circular cementitious composites” in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and Team Member of 4 R&D Projects. Author/co-author of more than 70 scientific publications and supervises 8 research works (Bacherlot, Master and PhD).
