Current position: Assistant Researcher, PhD (FEUP). Integrated Member of the R&D unit CONSTRUCT- Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction.
Education: MSc in Civil Engineering from FEUP (2008); PhD in Civil Engineering from the University of Porto (2015).
Main research interests/skills: Advanced models for analysis of the train-infrastructure dynamic interaction; running safety analysis in different contexts (crosswinds, earthquake); dynamic effects on railway bridges; fatigue assessment of railway bridges; track-structure interaction; condition monitoring systems (wayside and on-board); study of the normative documents related with bridge dynamics (EN1991-2, EN1990-A2).
Years of relevant experience: 12 in research and 5 in industry in structural design.
Main activities: Global coordinator of 1 European project (InBridge4EU), FEUP coordinator of 1 European project (In2Track3) and 2 national projects (ANI - Mobilizer project Ferrovia 4.0 and PRR - SMART WAGONS). Author of more than 40 scientific publications (h-index Scopus 20) and 13 technical reports; Supervisor/co-supervisor of 13 MSc theses (13 concluded) and 5 PhD theses (0 concluded).
Other relevant information: Participation in more than 13 advanced consultancy studies in the field of railways and bridges with companies such as Metro do Porto, Infraestruturas de Portugal, BERD, Institute Giprostroymost (Russia). Internship in the Railway Technical Research Institute in Tokyo, Japan, and in the Kanagawa Institute of Technology in Atsugi, Japan. Awarded with 6 prizes related with the research developed in the field of railways, including the Junior Prize awarded by the European Association for Structural Dynamics in the conference EURODYN 2023. Winner of two positions in the FCT's individual national call for Scientific Employment Stimulus: 2nd position (out of 89) in the 3rd edition (2020) for junior Researcher (grant awarded) and 1st position (out of 45) in the 5th edition (2022) for Assistant Researcher (grant awarded).
