Personal Presentation

Marcelo R. Petry is currently Assistant Professor at the University of Porto, and leader of the Industrial Robotics team at INESC TEC. His work lies at the intersection of robotics, computer vision, and extended reality, contributing to drive human-centered digital transformation in manufacturing through several European and national R&D projects. Previously (2014 to 2019) he was Assistant Professor at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, where he also led the Robotics and Sensing group at INESC P&D Brasil. Marcelo received the Ph.D. degree in Informatics Engineering from the University of Porto (2013), and the Bachelor in Control and Automation Engineering from Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Rio Grande do Sul (2008).
