I work in Game Theory, with a particular interest in studying the impact of social interactions and social networks on decision-making, and on classical economic and social models. I am particularly interested in exploring and developing mathematical modelling with context-dependent strategic solutions. One goal is to open up new paths to decision-making and understanding thanks to new perspectives on common assumptions.
I am also passionate about expanding the possibilities commonly associated with the use of structured mathematical reasoning (conscious and unconscious), and exploring the connection between teamwork, collective work, improvisation, intuition, creativity, and learning.
My academic background is in Mathematics, with a Master's degree in Mathematical Engineering and a PhD in Applied Mathematics, both from the University of Porto. I also have training and experience in the field of music, and non-formal learning.
I am a researcher at the Artificial Intelligence and Decision Support Laboratory - LIAAD, at INESC TEC.
