Personal Presentation

I am currently a Professor at FEUP and a Researcher at InescTec, within the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS)
I am passionate about Education and it is also a target of my research.
Regarding more technical areas, I do research in the fields of Automation and Robotics.

My topics of research of activity are:

Short Bio:
  • Armando Jorge Miranda de Sousa earned his PhD in 2004 in Electrical and Computer Engineering (EEC) at Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP), Portugal, with a dissertation in the technical field of Robotics. He is currently an Auxiliary professor at the department of EEC, at FEUP and a researcher at INESCTEC in the Centre for Robotics in Industry and Intelligent Systems (CRIIS). His current research interests include Educational issues in Higher Education side by side with the more technical fields of Automation and Robotics. He has received national and international awards in robotics and robotic competitions as well as national and international merits in pedagogical matters. He has published over 30 indexed peer reviewed articles, both in pedagogical as well as in the mentioned technical fields. He is also involved in international research projects in education and technical areas. He currently has an international patent active.
