He concluded the MSc in Civil Engineering at the University of Aveiro in 2013. After that, He started his research activity at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto (FEUP), in September 2013. Since then, He participated in 6 national and international research projects: Biaxial, BeEarth, RetroInf, Aspassi, AXA and SeismicPRECAST. He concluded his PhD in Civil Engineering, with specialization in structures, at FEUP in 2020.

He is co-author of 42 papers in international peer-review journals (28 of them as the first author), 7 in national peer-review journals, 7 book chapters and 62 papers in international and national conferences.   He was awarded the best paper in the seismic engineering prize by the Portuguese Society of Seismic Engineering. The international journal Buildings distinguished him with a travel award for PhD students. The candidate also won a blind prediction contest organized by the Croatian Science Foundation (14 invited expert teams at the competition). He took part in the organization and scientific committees of 6 national and international conferences. He was co-supervisor of 16 master thesis. He is peer-reviewer of 25 international journals. He is member of 9 peer-review international journals' editorial board. He is the lead guest editor of 3 special issues in two international scientific journals.

He is Junior Civil Engineer at the Instituto da Construção, where he has collaborated in 23 projects/works, financed and/or developed in collaboration with the industry community and other public sector institutions. Works related to assessment, design and consultancy, reinforcing the university and the Industry sector's connection.

Since 2015, He established national and international relations with several universities and industrial partners. He also worked and established relations with some regional governmental bodies.
