Actual Position: Post Doctoral Researcher in the Department of Civil Engineering at FEUP and an Integrated Member of The Institute of R&D in Structures and Construction.
Academic Degrees: (Integrated) MSc in Civil Engineering - Materials (FEUP) and a PhD in Civil Engineering - Structures (UP), with thesis "Design of eco-efficient ultra-high performance fibre reinforced cement-based composite for rehabilitation/strengthening applications", with exchange in TU Delft (Microlab).
Main research lines: Developing and characterising new cementitious materials (self-compacting concrete, eco-efficient concretes, high/ultra-high performance cementitious composites, digital concrete), non-conventional SCM (wastes valorization as supplementary cementitious materials), carbon efficient binders, micro structural analisis and connection with structural bahaviour, experimental factorial design, modelling of material behaviour, non-destructive testing and concrete durability

Relevant activities: competitive post-doc funding contract in the 4th edition of the Individual Scientific Employment Stimulation Contest (2021). Principal researcher of the project DigiCrete - “NEXT GENERATION OF DIGITAL “CONCRETE”: Performance Mix Design and Assessment of Sustainable and circular cementitious composites” in cooperation with the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Principal Researcher at UP of the Project "Promoting Sustainable Affordable Housing Construction Technologies Using Environmentally Sound Locally Available Resources (PURSUE)", Team Member of 7 R&D Projects, 4 in the field of cementitious materials. Author/co-author of over 90 scientific publications and supervises 18 research and tecnhical works (international internships, Bachelor, Master and PhDs). Inventor of patent CEC3D – Carbon-efficient cement-based formula for 3D printing.
Other information: Expert evaluator for the European Innovation Council (EIC). Expert evaluator on the evaluation committee for Canada's University and Community Innovation Program.
