Apresentação Pessoal

Rui Manuel Ferreira Gomes is currently a researcher in the SYSTEC research unit at the Electrical Engineering Department of the Faculty of Engineering, Porto University. Rui does research in control of robotic systems ranging from autonomous underwater vehicles to manufacturing systems.

He has got his degree in electrical engineering in 2000, MSc in 2002, worked in the Oil & Gas industry and got his PhD in electrical engineering in 2018 where he developed a new Model Predictive Control approach using the plant’s attainable set to reduce the optimization computational burden to real-time standards.

He is currently working on the implementation of intelligent robotic systems to enhance production lines efficiency and to raise factories I4.0 index level. He is also interested in entrepreneurship and strives to maximize opportunities to create value in the market.
