Actual position: Assistant Professor of the Faculty of Engineering of the University of Porto (FEUP); Researcher of I&D organization CONSTRUCT – Unit GEQUALTEC, integrated in FEUP

Academic habilitations: Degree in Civil Engineering by FEUP (1982); Masters in Building Construction (FEUP) only scholar part (1986); Pedagogic and Sscientific Habilitation Exams (1988); PhD in Civil Engineering by the University of Porto (1996);

Main scientific concerns/áreas of research: Building Construction Technologies specially those related with the construction systems based on timber and derivatives; Timber Structures; Rehabilitation of structures and construction systems based on timber and derivatives; Timber Constructions; Prefabrication

Years of relevant experience:  39

Mais activities during the academic carreer: tutor of more than 150 Masters dissertations; author of more than 100 technical and scientific publications, namely the book  “Projeto de Estruturas de Madeira” (2009), in portuguese, main reference in portuguese for timber structures design, done  with a co-author, Prof. João Negrão of FCTUC, Coimbra
