Bachelor in Aerospace Engineering

The Degree in Aerospace Engineering (L.AERO) aims to provide students with transversal, systemic and multidisciplinary training in the field of aerospace engineering. The Degree combines the following scientific areas:
- Mathematics;
- Computational Systems;
- Materials and Structures, with special emphasis on Materials, Manufacturing Processes, Mechanics and Aerospace Structures;
- Fluids and Energy, encompassing Thermodynamics, Fluid Mechanics, Aerodynamics and Turbomachinery;
- Systems, with an emphasis on Circuits, Electromagnetism, Signals, Systems and Control.
The Degree features a significant laboratory and computational component, culminating in the completion of a final project in the aerospace engineering domain. Additionally, the Degree aims to foster engagement through the inclusion of an Aerospace Engineering Competition and the development of cross-disciplinary skills through the integration of specific curricular units in the field.

Objectives

Aerospace Engineering students will acquire solid and integrated knowledge in the fundamental scientific areas of Aerospace Engineering: mathematics and physics, including materials and structures, fluids and energy, systems, and computing. Based on this knowledge, Graduates in Aerospace Engineering will have a holistic view of the field, understanding the main technological challenges, and will have the ability to contribute to the preliminary design, manufacturing, and testing of aerospace systems.

Aerospace Engineering students will also develop practical experience in multidisciplinary teamwork while maintaining high levels of responsibility and professional ethics, enhancing their communication skills.

These Graduates will have the necessary skills to:
i) pursue further studies in more advanced levels of Aerospace Engineering and related fields;
ii) keep up with the evolution of knowledge and technologies in the Aerospace field throughout their professional careers.
