The Degree in Informatics and Computer Engineering (L.EIC) is a course offered jointly by FEUP and FCUP, in an initiative aimed at strengthening the supply of higher education in Computer Engineering at the University of Porto and thus respond to the needs of society in this area of great evolution and impact. The course operates in FEUP's facilities.
The general objective of L.EIC is to promote qualification excellence in the scientific and technical fundamentals of Computer and Information Engineering (EIC), enabling graduates to pursue further studies at the 2nd cycle level with a view to performing leadership and innovation roles in complex contexts, or to enter the labor market to perform roles in the development and operation of systems based on Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). To this end, it offers training that reconciles
- careful training in the basic sciences of Engineering, namely Mathematics and Physics;
- comprehensive basic training in the major scientific and technical areas of ICT (programming, algorithms, computer architecture, operating systems, computer networks, software engineering, databases, cybersecurity, computer graphics, interaction and artificial intelligence), aligned with international best practices and recommendations, namely those of the ACM and IEEE;
- flexible training in transversal skills.
