Master in Applied Statistics and Modelling

Course Aims

This course intends to develop skills at a post graduate level in the area of Statistics and its applications.

Domains such as Urban Mobility and Traffic, Bio-Medical Studies, Didactics or School Management, Economics and Financial Studies, and Environmental Studies are examples of applications considered in master thesis.

It also aims to develop consultant skills as well as to provide tools to introduce the student into research activities on specialized areas of Probability and Statistics, Stochastic Analysis and Modeling, and on its numerical aspects.

It has a large number of subjects for the optional courses .

The course includes

  • A scholar period consisting of three terms (10 weeks each)
  • A thesis following the scholar part. The thesis will be supervised by a Professor with the agreement of the Scientific Committee of the Course.

    Qualifications for Admissions

    Graduates in Mathematics, Engineering, Economics, Physics and other scientific fields with scientific background considered adequate by the Scientific Committee of this course.

    Two afternoons per week, usually Thursdays and Fridays.

    Fees 1.250 euros /year.

    Numerus clausus

    The numerus clausus for the 2006/2008 edition is limited to 15 students.A minimum of 5 students is required for the course to function.

  • Enrollment from 14 to 15 September 2006.
