The main goal is to provide actual postgraduate education in building construction to active professionals, teachers and researchers. The 9th edition of the course will be administered under the legislation of Portaria nº 368/85, dated 15 June, of Decreto-Lei nº 216/92, dated 13 October and of the FEUP regulations for master courses.

The course confers, after success in the defense of a dissertation, the degree of Master in Building Construction by the University of Porto. The course lasts for two semesters for the course program followed by up to two other semesters for the preparation of the dissertation. Parallel to the Master course, there is also the possibility for graduates to attend some of the courses, if they feel the need to acquire deeper knowledge in the area enhancing the area of professional development.

The applicants should have a degree in Civil Engineering equivalent to the awarded by Portuguese universities denominated licenciatura and should have a final classification of at least Good. Exceptionally other candidates may be accepted with the approval of the Scientific Committee.
