Management and Industrial Engineering

The Industrial Management and Engineering Programme began in the academic year of 1989/90. The programme aims are provide graduates with a knowledge base that combines technology with management methodologies and techniques. The integration of these two areas makes this programme different from the traditional management ones. At a time of increasing international competition, this programme offers companies the opportunity to hire graduates with a much-needed professional profile. AREAS OF ACTIVITY In industrial companies, the graduates can assist management in functional areas such as distribution, stock control production, maintenance, marketing, etc. Those with leadership skills will have opportunities for a career as executives, eventually leading them to top management. The graduates also have the possibility of choosing a career in applied research. Examples of research subjects include: decision process modelling, systems development for production management and control, analysis of integrated distribution and marketing strategies.
