Specific conditions to access the cycle of studies
The following may apply for this cycle of studies:
1. Hold a master's degree (second cycle according to Bologna specifications), to be completed by the application deadline, in chemical engineering or a related field, in this case with knowledge and skills in process engineering; or
2. Hold a bachelor's degree, according to the pre-Bologna reform system, in chemical engineering or a related field, in this case with knowledge and skills in process engineering, supported by professional or research experience deemed appropriate by the programme's Scientific Committee; or
3. Hold an academic, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognised by the programme's Scientific Committee as attesting to their ability to complete this cycle of studies.
The applicant will also have to submit a PhD project in a business environment in the areas of the cycle of studies (work plan and letter of comfort from the supporting company, expressing technical and economic support for the project and a summary CV of the business coordinator). (Note: Applicants with a scholarship via the FCT-APQuímica Protocol are exempt from submitting the PhD project, as the scholarship is already associated with a PhD project).
