Objectives
In this curricular unit it is intended that the student's work be oriented towards the initiation to research, developing specialized knowledge and procedures that allow him to carry out a critical reflection on a given theme.
It is intended that this self-study materializes in the form of a written report on a theme considered relevant for the development of the thesis plan to be carried out in the second semester.
It is a compulsory frequency curricular unit, organized in short-term modules and seminars. Some modules can be complemented by lectures involving invited experts, related to industry or research.
Learning outcomes and competences
It is intended that the student develops specialized knowledge and procedures (considered relevant for the development of the thesis) based on self-study and frequency of training modules and seminars.
It is also intended that the student establish contacts with other relevant research groups taking into account the theme of the thesis to be developed. The student is expected to be able to critically analyze, evaluate and synthesize new and complex ideas.
