Objectives

At the end of this training in Transversal Competences, the student must be able to lead a process of building an opportunity for innovation in the team, starting from a process of observation and interview in context.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this CT, the student must be able to conduct an innovation process initiated by observation and interview in context to identify a problem, followed by a design thinking process to build a solution.
It will still be able to communicate the value of the solution to the market.

Working method

Program

  • What is Innovation? Or what is Entrepreneurship? Entrepreneurship as the Engine of Innovation not the “Front-End” of Innovation

  • The concept of the Value Proposition of a product/service for an Alvo Market

  • A Observation and an Interview in context in identifying problems. A definition of the Problem.

  • The process of “Design Thinking” in the construction of the proposed solution

  • Weekly work coaching for each student team

  • Final Presentation

Teaching methods and learning activities

In this training in CT the following teaching methods will be used:

  • lecture on topics interspersed with questions through an app (ex Mentimeter)

  • team project, team coaching and project tutorial support

An interaction (contact hours) of 12h is intended for the concepts learning and for the presentations of two groups on the progress. 28.5h are for the development of two group works.

Evaluation Type

Evaluation with final exam

Assessment Components

Designation Weight (%)
Trabalho de campo 100,00
Total: 100,00

Amount of time allocated to each course unit

Designation Time (hours)
Estudo autónomo 28,50
Frequência das aulas 12,00
Total: 40,50

Eligibility for exams

The modality will be "exceptionally only by a final exam".

Assessment components:

  • Video of the team work process and two results obtained (assessed by the professors)

  • Peer assessment (within each group)

Calculation formula of final grade

  • Calculation formula for the final classification

    • Final Rating = 70% (Video Rating) + 30% x (Video Rating) x (Peer Rating Weight)

    • The Weighting’ Peer Assessment’ is calculated in the following way

    • A classification by pairs attributed to the students if and to the colleagues within each group are 100%. This evaluation results from an agreement between the members of each team.

    • Student year(s) with the maximum weighted classification is attributed to the classification given by the teacher.

    • The remaining two rankings are calculated according to their ranking (%) as part of the maximum ranking (%) attributed to the student with the best ranking.

    • Or student with 0% had final classification of zero.

  • In accordance with GR 11/02/2020, Chapter II, art 13, point 1, the final classification will be expressed on an entire numerical scale from 0 to 20 values.
