Objectives

Conducting business electronically is an increasingly ubiquitous approach. This course addresses this concept from a scientific-technological point of view.

Specific aims are: To understand the importance and opportunities of Electronic Business; To explain Electronic Business Models; To present Support Technologies for Electronic Business; To explore the application of multi-agent systems to model electronic business scenarios.

Learning outcomes and competences

At the end of this course, students should:

  • understand and model a simple Electronic Business process;
  • use intelligent technologies that support simple Electronic Business processes, related to negotiation and recommender systems.

Presencial

Pre-requirements (prior knowledge) and co-requirements (common knowledge)

Knowlege of Distributed Artificial Intelligence technologies is useful, as is understanding the notion of Computational Agent.

Distributed Evaluation comprises:

  • intermediate topic presentation and discussion: 20%
  • individual or group project implementation: 50%
  • scientific article documenting the project: 30%

To successfully complete the course, students have to reach a minimum grade of 35% in each of the components listed above.

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

Students with special status have to fulfill all the assessment components.

The assessment at a special season follows the same weights and rules of the assessment of students with regular status.

Classification improvement

Students may improve their grades in the next course edition.
