Objectives
Computational Methods in Plasticity: it is intended that the student addresses the theory of plasticity (in the broad sense), using a computational perspective based on an approximation made based on the finite element method (FEM).
The objective of the second part of the cpurse, Computational Methods in Damage Mechanics, is to train students in recent techniques of numerical simulation of the process of structural degradation of metallic and composite materials. This course will complement the disciplines of fracture mechanics and Approximation Methods in Engineering.
Learning outcomes and competences
Ability to simulate the plastic deformation and rupture of structures and mechanical components using the Computational Mechanics.

Computational Methods for Plasticity
Elasto-plastic constitutive model: strategies for incremental-iterative solution; consistent linearization of the integration algorithm. Formulation elasto-viscoplastic and rigid-viscoplastic. The problem of incompressibility in solving problems by MEF. Alternative formulations to mitigate the effect of retention: selective integration, method, method of deformations added.
