Objectives
Integration of multidisciplinary expertise in creating new products / services with the objective of learning a set of strategies and tools for systematic development of new products/services, in an environment of teamwork
Learning outcomes and competences
At the end of the course the student will acquire the following competences and be able to :
- Organize and define the process for developing product / service within the company;
- Define a structured plan of development of product or service;
- Know and be able to use a set of methods and tools for a systematic practice of introducing new products and services to meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders;
- Align the development of new products and services with the company's strategy;
- Understand product/service development as a system through the adoption of holystic approaches
- Understand importance of customer customer experience and customer involvement in new product development and service development
- Apply and synthetize knowledge through a team project, from the identification of a business opportunity to the generation of a concept and prototype.

Teaching methods and learning activities
The UC uses a PBL-project based learning approach, based on the development of a project to create a new product or service corresponding to a business opportunity identified by the team, using the models and tools taught in the course.

Eligibility for exams
The students should a minimum of 37,5% in every component of evaluation
Calculation formula of final grade
The final mark is based on the following criteria:
- 20% individual participation in class
- 30% intermediate presentations and discussions of new product and service development
- 50% final written report of new product and service development project
Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)
Working students must complete the individual and group assigments and must participate in assessment classes.
