Objectives

The main goals of the course are:

  • Understanding Risk analysis methodologies (Occupational, Natural and Technological);

  • To design an integrated occupational safety and environmental system;

  • To understand and apply risk management analysis methods;

  • To identify and develop management systems to plan and organise the response to serious and imminent risk situations;

  • To understand the role of the different elements in a system and the relative contribution to the global risk;

  • To identify and analyse the role of the human component in the causality of accidents and malfunctions or disturbances;

  • To establish emergency management principles.

Learning outcomes and competences

Examinations or Special Assignments

In specific cases duly justified and grounded by the students, such as relevant professional experience in the field, it may be accepted by the regent of the CU, after hearing the other professors, the presentation of a Case Study or a Bibliographic Review on a topic.

-The Case Study should be prepared according to the rules of scientific presentation of this kind.
-The Bibliographic Review must follow the guidelines of the PRISMA statement.

The works to be developed must have the necessary quality to be part of the works' portfolio to be presented as an example to UC students in the current academic year and the following years.

Works without the minimum quality for presentation to a congress will have a negative grade.

Internship work/project

Special assessment (TE, DA, ...)

The exceptional evaluation has two components:

-Examination with a weighting equal to ordinary students (50%);

-Individual work, with a weighting equal to the ordinary students (50%).

The individual works must be submitted by the date of the appeal examination (the student should contact the teachers until the penultimate week of semester classes, given the theme of the work to be developed).

Classification improvement

The final grade will result from the weighted average of the tests and the done group work.
Each of the assessment components will be marked with a minimum of 7 marks.

It is possible to improve the classification by examining all the contents at the time of the appeal.

It is not possible to improve the classification of group work carried out during the semester.
