This course aims to give an overview on technologies related with servomechanism systems, namely electro-hydraulic and electromechanical systems.
Proportional hydraulics and servo-hydraulics.
Component modelling and electro-hydraulic and electric system servomechanism systems.
Conception of servomechanism systems.
Following approval on this course the student should be able to:
- identify the main technological components in eletro-hydraulic and eletromechanical systems
-analyse and determine the functional characteristics of eletro-hydraulic and eletromechanical systems
-design solutions of eletro-hydraulic and eletromechanical systems to follow a functional specification

Revision of concepts related with control systems: terminology, basics, static and dynamic characteristics;
Proportional hydraulics: elements of hydraulic control systems, means of electronic control. Characteristics of the elements of proportional hydraulic control systems;
Conception and dimensioning of systems;
Servo-hydraulics: elements of servo-hydraulic systems. Servo-valves;
Numerical modelling of hydraulic systems; calculation and modelling of systems;
Electric servomechanisms: AC/DC servo engines; Technology, characteristics and applications; step-by-step engines
Techniques of control of linear systems
Theoretical classes will be based on course theoretical themes.
Practical classes will be divided into laboratory classes and analysis classes regarding modelling and numerical calculation.
