Objectives


Integration of multidisciplinary expertise in creating new products / services aiming at learning a set of strategies and tools for systematic development of structured products, in an environment of teamwork. It is intended that at the end the student:
• Be able to organize and define the process for developing product / service within the company;
• Be able to define a structured plan of development of product or service;
• Know and be able to use a set of methods and tools for a systematic practice of introducing new and innovative products to meet the needs of customers and other stakeholders and in particular the multiple functional areas of the company in its development and commercial release;
• Align the development of new products  with the company's strategy;
• Develop skills to work in a team;

The program of the course was designed to provide the student with the knowledge base that will enhance competencies  allowing not only  easy integration  as a member of product development teams as part of his professional activity but also to take a leadership role  in defining innovation strategies  in their implementation

The UC uses a project based learning (PBL) methodology :  a project to create a new product or service that satisifies  an opportunity identified by a team of 4-6 students is developed along the semester ,following the methodology taught in the course.

Calculation formula of final grade

The final mark  is based on the following criteria:


-     10% Class attendance;/participation

-     20 %  Presentation and discussion of case studies/papers  and progress reports related to tasks (assignments) planned:

-     70% Presentation and discussion of the final report of the  project to develop an innovative product or service

 

The students should demonstrate active participation in all the above components of evaluation
