Objectives

The goal of this curricular unit is to allow the students to individually study a topic,  considered relevant for the theme of the thesis, but not adequately covered in other curricular unit of the study cycle, or in other programme of the University of Porto.

 

Learning outcomes and competences

The learning outcomes will vary with the individual study topic taken by each student, but will include always a deep mastery of the knowledge associated to an advanced, although narrow, research topic.

Teaching methods and learning activities

The learning process will be based on individual study, under the orientation of a supervisor, and the assessment will consider a report/portfolio to delivered by the student in the end of the CU.
