- Comprehensive knowledge of conception and implementation of interactive digital systems;
- Comprehensive knowledge of interfacing and mapping techniques of digital information;
- Execution of various types of assignments involving interaction technologies depending on students’ background

- What is interaction? A thorough analysis of the various concepts of interaction in digital media;
- Interactive music;
- Interactive dance;
- Interactive cinema;
- Communication protocols – MIDI and OSC;
- Application of mapping and interfacing technique in interactive systems design.

Teaching methods and learning activities
This course unit is composed by comprehensive seminars and sessions where practical exercises related to the mentioned technologies are carried out. Students will be asked to give presentations of the recommended bibliography, as well as to carry out practical assignments applying the acquired knowledge.

Observations
Classes will be taught in English if there is foreign students or if it is deemed necessary (e.g. presentations given by foreign professors). Students can either present their assignment in Portuguese or in English.
