Objectives
To get a fundamental knowledge on the practical application of surveying in civil engineering.
Program
Main field of activity of Topography and Geodesy.
Basic concepts of Cartography. Symbolic representation of cartographic objects. Scales. Measure of areas and volumes.
Ellipsoidal and rectangular coordinate systems. Resolution of common problems using rectangular coordinates.
Theory of observation errors. Types of errors and corrections. Accuracy of measures. Parameters for accuracy.
Angle and distance measurement. Using of surveying instruments. Traditional and modern approaches to measure of angles and distances. Tacheometry. Leveling.
Network compensation. Intersection. Resection. Traverse.
Photogrammetry and GPS fundamental concepts. Practical use of these two technics.
