Objectives
The purpose of this subject is to give our students - who do not have any prepation or knowledge on juridical matters - a complete information about the interference of law in the companies and in commercial business.Therefor the enterprise is observed under a juridical point of vue on different aspects, concerning it's activities, contracts and the problems that may occur when applying the law. Allthough the intention and purpose is not - and can not be - to give a complete preparation in business and company law the subject intends to make the students understand some of the problems that may emerge when starting and developing commercial activities and to prepare them to be aware of those problems and have the knowledge to take the right and lawful decisions.
Program
The enterprise ( or the firm ) and it's owner: The single owner of the firm and the company. The four types of companies admited under the portuguese law; how to create a company and how to rule the company. The firm and it's commercial activity: doing business and contracts. Some commercial contracts: distribution contracts such as agency and franchise; financial contracts, such as leasing and factoring. Civil liability for damages caused by deffective products. Warranties. International payments. Labour relations within the firm and portuguese law on labour relations.
Teaching methods and learning activities
Foreign students are invited to prepare works on each of the various items and subjects on the basis of their own legal system that are commented and compared, in class, with portuguese system and law.
For those students who cannot speak and understand portuguese special classes are available in english or in french.

Eligibility for exams
Foreign students are evaluated on the basis of the works they prepare and the presentation and discussion of those works in class.
Calculation formula of final grade
Foreign students have a final classification with a report describing their works and their frequency to classes.
Examinations or Special Assignments
There are no special works for foreign students.
Classification improvement
A special test can be done to improve classification.
