Objectives
Develop the ability to:
- Analyze and interpret the security regulation, norms and other technical documents related to the conception and operation of LV, MV and HV electrical installations;
- Conceive and design MV and LV distribution networks and MV/LV substations;
- Integrate in working groups in an efficient way.
- Adopt a systematic approach to problems, using general and specific technical-scientific knowledge.
- Use AutoCAD.

Organization and formulation of licensing projects.
Security Regulations of electrical installations.
Conception and design of a licensing project of the electrical infra-structures of a housing estate. This includes the MV distribution network, the MV/LV distribution substations, the LV distribution network and the public lightning network.
Rural distribution networks considering their equipments and design.
Dimensioning, choice and mechanical stability calculations of electrical poles, and their foundations, for MV aerial distribution lines.

Teaching methods and learning activities
Theoretical classes: exposition of contents using transparencies and completed by the presentation of study cases.
Practical classes:
- Development of the licensing project of the electrical infra-structures of a housing estate;
- Solution of exercises on other topics addressed in this course.
In order to develop the referred licensing project, the students are organized in groups (2 to 3 students).

The students must not exceed the absence limit established to the practical classes.
Calculation formula of final grade
CLASSIFICATION = 0.6x(Grade obtained on the group assignment) + 0.2 x (Grade obtained on the individual assignment) + 0.2x (result of the mini-test).

Identical to the evaluation procedure established to the ordinary students.
